A Soft Minimalist Retreat in Newport Beach
Newport Beach, CA
The Kitchen: Warmth in Every Detail
The kitchen became the heart of the transformation.
Rather than high contrast or dramatic statements, we leaned into subtle movement and tone-on-tone layering.
Slim Oak cabinetry by Elite Stone Group introduced vertical grain texture — warm, organic, and quietly modern. The flat slab doors kept the composition clean, allowing the material itself to take center stage.
Taj Mahal quartzite wrapped the countertops and island in a creamy, luminous surface. Its delicate veining mirrors the softness of the oak, creating a seamless dialogue between wood and stone.
The waterfall island stands sculptural yet understated substantial without feeling heavy.
Brushed brass fixtures bring a muted warmth, tying the entire palette together.
But what truly elevates the space is the lighting.
Full length LED toe kicks create a floating effect. Under cabinet strips wash the backsplash in soft illumination. Even the hood shelf carries integrated lighting. By day, the kitchen feels sunlit and airy. By night, it glows.
It’s not just a kitchen it’s an atmosphere.
The Arched Bar: A Moment of Intention
One of the most defining architectural gestures in this home is the custom arched built in bar.
The curve softens the linear cabinetry surrounding it, creating balance. Inside the arch, integrated LED lighting traces the form in a subtle 180 degree glow – a detail that feels almost sculptural after sunset.
Slim Oak cabinetry continues here, paired again with Taj Mahal leathered stone. The material repetition anchors the design while the arch introduces personality.
It’s functional. It’s elegant. It’s quietly dramatic.
Living Spaces: Designed to Breathe
As you move through the home, the softness continues.
Custom built-ins echo the arched language established in the kitchen. Warm wood tones are layered against neutral walls tones that shift gently with the light.
The TV wall is all lime was with smooth and soft texture in warm tone
Natural light plays a leading role, streaming through large openings and skylights, activating the grain of the oak and the movement within the stone.
The space doesn’t demand attention. It invites it.
The Master Bathroom: A Personal Retreat
The primary bath was envisioned as a sanctuary, a place to exhale.
At its center sits a freestanding soaking tub, framed within a softly illuminated arch. Behind it, vertical fluted tile adds texture without overwhelming the eye. Concealed LED lighting traces the curve, casting a warm halo around the niche.
The flooring is Lovina White Honed Marble Mosaic introduces organic variation underfoot. The honed finish keeps the space grounded and tactile rather than polished and cold.
Brushed brass plumbing fixtures continue the material story from the kitchen, reinforcing cohesion throughout the home.
Here, the design slows down. Light softens. Sound quiets.
It feels intentional. Personal.
