The kitchen is the art of the house. It’s where the magic happens! This is the place where a family shares meals, moments and memories. I partnered with E&E Builders to remove the wall between the kitchen and the living room. Richrdo, E&E Builders in house architect, was incredible. He drew the plans and did the engineer calculations to help me create an open concept kitchen. I used the supporting wood beam as a focal point for modern farmhouse design.

I partnered with Cucine Moderne Home Remodeling Design Center for all  the finished materials. With your family and people in mind, you want to create spaces for everyone and everything to work together so that everyone can enjoy their time even in the kitchen. That’s why for the countertop, I used new Calacatta Laza Quartz slabs with polished finish.  It’s one of the elements that really set the mood for the kitchen.

When it comes to home design, there’s no room for frivolous choices! To add an authentic touch for the backsplash, I used Cleo white. The Cloe Collection is glazed ceramic wall tile characterized by its brilliant colors, smooth gloss finish and interesting variations in hues and tones of ceramic made in Spain purchased from Cucine Moderne.  For kitchen cabinets, I used The White Shaker kitchen cabinets by Cucine Moderne. The doors are solid wood and the boxes are 3/4 plywood with a soft closing mechanism. The white cabinets are perfectly matched with the luxury Engineered wood. For the drawers, we used Winfield Drawer Pull from Rejuvination. The glazed ceramic wall tile and white kitchen cabinets really complement each other.

This is a special place in your home that needs special attention as well. From flooring to the walls and to the cabinets, I really see to it that the elements match each other to make the design more seamless. For the range, we used Cafe 30” Smart Slide-In Front Control, Gas Range. Aside from that, we also used the Island Mount Range Hood from Cucine Moderne. For the dishwasher, we used Cafe Smart stainless steel interior dishwasher with sanitize and ultra wash and dual convection ultra dry. For the refrigerator, we used Cafe Energy Star Smart 4-Door French-Door design with sophisticated aesthetic details. The combination of these appliances really brought out the modern farmhouse style. 

A kitchen remodel isn’t just about doing things from a space perspective. Sure, it’s important to take advantage of the space you have and make it as functional as possible. But what about style? For the sink, we used the Whitehaven Hayridge apron-front kitchen sink that features a gentle pattern of horizontal ridges on the apron-front. It has a large single basin that accommodates large pots and pans. It is crafted from enameled cast iron and this sink resists chipping, cracking or burning for years of beauty and reliable performance.

For the faucet, we used Kohler’s Graze Touchless pull-down kitchen sink faucet with three-function sprayhead. It uses a state-of-the-art motion sensor for reliable touchless activation. It also features a three-function pull-down sprayhead that allows you to switch between sweep, spray and berrysoft spray. It’s not just about the looks, I also took into consideration its functionality.

This is a project that isn’t too hard to achieve if you put the right elements together and if you have the right partner with you like Cucine Moderne to make the work much easier. Remember to simplify even the most beautiful of luxury home items to keep them cohesive and clean.
